Success Poems to Uplift Your Spirit

Success Poems to Uplift Your Spirit

Today I will demonstrate the power of Success Poems.  On my way to taking my son to school today, we listened to the book on tape on Psycho-Cybernetics.  We both love listening to positive books on tape during a commute.  On today’s listening I heard a great poem by one of my favorite authors growing up:  Henry David Thoreau.  It made me think of other success poems that have impacted me in my life.  Let’s check them out!

I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
― Walden

If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal- that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself. The greatest gains and values are farthest from being appreciated. We easily come to doubt if they exist. We soon forget them. They are the highest reality. Perhaps the facts most astounding and most real are never communicated by man to man. The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.

–  Also from Walden

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.

– Again from Walden (Can you tell I like Walden?)

This I Believe

I believe in myself.

I believe that all people have the equal right to become all they are willing and able to become.

I believe that I am a good as anyone in the world. Although I may never be on the cover of Time or People magazine, I still have time to be one of the people who make a really positive difference in the world.

I believe that although I may not be the best looking in the group, I’ll always be looking my best in every group!

I believe in this and the next generation, and believe we’ll build a better nation.

I believe that good health means more than wealth.

I believe in caring and sharing, rather than comparing.

I believe of all the people I see, still I’d rather be me!

If You Think You Can

If you Think You Can, You Can!
You can be a total winner even if you’re a beginner,
If you think you can, you can,
If you think you can, you can,
You can wear the gold medallion,
You can ride your own black stallion,
If you think you can, you can,
If you think you can, you can,

It’s not your talent or the gift at birth,
It’s not your bank book that determines worth,
And it isn’t in the color of your skin,
It’s your attitude that lets you win,
You can upset Connors or Austin,
Or win the marathon at Boston,
If you think you can, you can,
If you think you can, you can,

You can profit through inflation,
You can redirect this nation,
If you think you can, you can,
If you think you can, you can,

It doesn’t matter if you’ve won before,
It makes no difference what’s the half time score,
It’s never over until the final gun,
So keep on trying and you’ll find you’ve won,
You grab your dream and then believe it,
Go out and work and you’ll achieve it,
If you think you can, you can,
If you think you can, you can!

Success Poems Final Thoughts

Once I started compiling these “success poems”, I realized that I had enough to make a series out of them.  For the sake of time, I will stop there.  But before I go, I wanted to share that I found a way to turn the inspiration derived from success poems like this into a vehicle to help my family and many others.
