A Powerful Goal Setting Template

A Powerful Goal Setting Templategoal setting template

Why is having a goal setting template so important? Well, we all know that one of the characteristics of most successful people is that they have written and definite goals.  But when it actually becomes time for you to write down you goals, the task can be somewhat daunting.  So the purpose of today’s post is to share with you an all-inclusive goal setting template that will make the process easier!

Goal Setting Template Considerations

Before I go into the parts of the goal setting template, it is important to discuss the three levels of goals that you should have in each of the parts.

First level:  Short term goals – these are goals that you are looking to achieve in the next 90 days

Second level: Mid term goals – these are goals that you are looking to achieve in the next  1 -2 years

Third level: Long term goals – these are goals that you want to achieve in the next 2 – 5 years

Please note:   These levels are an approximation only.  You may find that, for your own situation, short term is only a month.  Historically, Eastern companies were known for having a long term time horizon of over 100 years.

Goal Setting Template Areas

The following are the five areas that your “goal setting template” should address (along with some sample questions to get you started):

1) Goal Setting Template Area #1: Physical

What type of health goals do you have for yourself?  Weight?  Body fat Percentage? BMI?  What about your blood work?  What are  the numbers

there?  What about your physical surroundings? Are you organized? Is your house clean?  What does complete joy in this area look like?

2) Goal Setting Template Area #2: Financial

How much money are you making?  What is your net worth?  How much are you giving away? And to whom? How many sources of income do

you have?  What does complete joy in this area look like? What do you do for income?

3) Goal Setting Template Area #3: Relationships

Is there someone you need to forgive? Are you contributing to the lives of others?  Have you resolved all conflicts? What does complete joy in

this area look like? How would your loved ones rate you on a scale of 1 to 10?

4) Goal Setting Template Area #4: Mental/Emotional

Are you growing?  How many books will you have read? How many audio/videos will you have studied?  How many conferences will you have

attended? What does complete joy in this area look like?

5) Goal Setting Template Area #5: Spiritual

Are you growing spiritually?  Are you involved in your church? How is your prayer life?  Are reading the Bible daily? Have you shared your

beliefs with someone else? What does complete joy in this area look like?

Goal Setting Template Final Thoughts

If you think about it, most of you goals fit into one of these areas of the goal setting template.  As I went about filling this out for myself,  I came across a great resource that helped me get to that point of joy in my finances. It excited me because I knew that it would not just work for me but also others!
